About the role

 

We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Design Engineer  to join our existing Structural Connections team based in Sheffield, UK

The role is responsible for building & maintaining relationships with customers to make sales and increase profitability. In addition, it is also responsible for encouraging repeat purchases and brand loyalty by adding value to transactions, providing the right solutions alongside excellent customer service.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Design and specify structural connection products based on project requirements
  • Construct structural models to analyse and optimize connection performance.
  • Perform design calculations for both standard and bespoke structural connection solutions.
  • Develop product models to support manufacturing and installation.
  • Draft production drawings with accuracy and clarity.
  • Attend site visits and client design meetings to provide technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project efficiency.

 

Experience & qualifications

 

To be successful in this role you'll need:

 

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English grades A-C
  • To be an enthusiastic person with a can do attitude able to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • To be methodical, organised with ability to prioritise.
  • To be computer literate (Particularly Microsoft Office and Dynamics CRM) 
  • To possess a good attention to detail and to be accurate.
  • To be able to manage and respond to multiple issues at once whilst meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ideally experience of working in a construction or manufacturing business.
  • A proven track record of account management and converting quotes to orders.
  • To be able to read and understand technical drawings.
