Head of UX

Role Purpose
We’re a digital‑first business rethinking retirement through clear, intuitive, and user‑centred digital experiences. As Head of UX, you’ll take a hands‑on lead in designing and shaping engaging customer journeys for future Generation X retirees. This role combines practical UX delivery with the opportunity to influence standards and direction across our digital products.
Working closely with Product, Technology, and Marketing, you’ll ensure every touchpoint is simple, consistent, and built around real user needs. It’s a great step‑up opportunity for a senior UX practitioner looking to expand their impact into strategic direction while remaining actively involved in delivery.

Define and deliver a D2C UX strategy aligned to business goals and target customer needs
Set and champion a clear vision for consistent, high‑quality user experiences across all digital touchpoints
Lead a testing‑led UX approach, ensuring user research and insights directly inform product and design decisions
Embed continuous testing and iteration using data, analytics, and user feedback
Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and key stakeholders to align UX priorities and delivery plans
Influence product roadmaps to ensure user needs and experience improvements are prioritised
Own UX quality standards, ensuring accessibility, usability, and visual consistency across products
Maintain and evolve a scalable design system and efficient UX processes
Define KPIs and measure the impact of UX initiatives to drive ongoing improvement
Represent UX at leadership level, sharing insights, progress, and opportunities for innovation
What We're Looking For
Experience designing and delivering user‑centred digital products in a D2C environment is essential
A strong portfolio that demonstrates end‑to‑end UX thinking, from discovery and research through to delivery
Hands‑on experience using modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite
Ready to take the next step, with the confidence to own UX workstreams and influence decisions beyond individual designs
Understanding of UX research, testing approaches, and data‑informed design, with a curiosity to keep learning
Comfortable collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing partners
A thoughtful problem‑solver who can work effectively with change, ambiguity, and evolving priorities
Well‑organised, detail‑focused, and motivated to balance hands‑on delivery with broader UX thinking
