This is a hands-on industrial product design role within a growing Product Design Innovation team based at a UK manufacturing headquarters.
You will be working inside R&D on real, manufactured products used in demanding industrial environments. This is not consumer design and not purely conceptual work. Your designs will go through testing, validation, compliance, and production.
This role suits a junior designer who wants to understand how good ideas survive manufacturing reality.
Supporting the design and development of new industrial products
Creating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings
Using in-house 3D printing to prototype, test, and refine designs
Assisting with prototyping, mechanical testing, and design validation
Producing clear design documentation, visuals, and technical illustrations
Working closely with engineering, compliance, and manufacturing teams
Supporting product life cycle management activities
Following structured design review and release processes
Contributing ideas and problem-solving across live development projects
Degree in Industrial Design or Product Design
Minimum 2 years industry experience
A portfolio showing ideas taken from sketch through to manufactured product
SolidWorks experience preferred
A working understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach
Good communication skills and confidence working in a team environment
Self-motivated, adaptable, and keen to learn
