What You Will Do

As a Lead Design Engineer – Fire Suppression, you will take technical ownership of Sprinkler and Special Risk design activities across large, complex and multi‑discipline projects. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will provide technical leadership, governance and mentoring within the design function, while supporting the business on high‑risk or specialist projects. This is an office‑based role with collaboration across sales, delivery and site teams, with occasional travel as required.

How You Will Do It

  • Lead, review and approve Sprinkler and Special Risk designs in line with LPCB, BS EN 12845, NFPA, FM Global and customer standards
  • Ensure design programmes meet approval, fabrication and construction milestones
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to Design and Senior Design Engineers
  • Review and approve design risk assessments and technical submissions
  • Liaise with Sales, Contract Managers and site teams to resolve complex technical challenges
  • Support project handovers from sales through design to completion, ensuring all deliverables are met
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, processes and best practice
  • Utilise 2D and 3D design tools to deliver coordinated, clash‑free designs

What We Are Looking For

  • LPCB Basic and FHC qualification
  • Strong fire suppression design expertise using LPCB rules, BS EN 12845, NFPA and FM Global standards
  • Experience delivering complex or high‑value projects
  • Advanced AutoCAD skills
  • Experience using 3D design software such as Revit and Navisworks
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and make sound engineering decisions
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High level of IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience producing design specifications, presentations and contractual documentation
  • Full UK driving licence
