ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer

 

SALARY - £35,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience

 

TYPE - Permanent

 

LOCATION – Cambridge   

 

My client specialises in Robotics and Automation in the Manufacturing sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Buckinghamshire area on a permanent basis.

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Design or similar
• At least 2 years’ experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient with using 3D CAD – SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar  
• Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
• Experienced working to customer specifications and altering designs based on requirements
• Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
• Knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication
• Innovative, accurate and passionate about design
• Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills
• Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

 

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Being responsible for the Design and Development of various automation solutions
• Using 3D CAD software for design on a day-to-day basis
• Developing ideas from concept to production
• Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications
• Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
• Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
• Providing technical guidance and support
• Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation
