Product Designer | Finster.ai

Role: Product Designer

Company: Finster AI

Location: London (preferred) or New York (exceptional senior candidates)

Job Type: Full-time, permanent. No visa sponsorship ATM

About Finster AI

  • Finster AI is a Series A-stage company building an AI-native platform for research and process automation at financial institutions.

  • They deliver end-to-end solutions, including presentation decks, for some of the world’s largest banks.

  • Their product is designed for institutional investors, with accuracy, reliability, and privacy at the core.

About the Team

  • Founded by former Google DeepMind and Meta AI leaders.

  • Team members have previously worked at Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Rothschild & Co, Aviva Investors, Visible Alpha, and Revolut.

  • ~25-person team primarily based in London and an office in New York.

  • You’ll be the sole senior IC Product Designer in close partnership with Finster’s Head of Experience.

What you are expected to do:

  • Shape the UX of Finster AI’s AI-powered financial research platform, designing interfaces that make complex data and workflows context-aware, timely, intuitive and trustworthy.

  • Use AI tools to increase design velocity and exploration without replacing critical thinking.

  • Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs for a complex, data-heavy web application.

  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, product data, and technical constraints, balancing usability, clarity, and feasibility.

  • Maintain and evolve the design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across the product.

What you need to succeed:

  • 3+ years of product design experience maintaining design systems, including components, patterns, and documentation.

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and a commitment to building inclusive, usable interfaces.

  • Ability to be clever, creative and curious about the implementation of AI in a highly-regulated and high risk industry.

  • Ability to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale to designers, engineers, and business stakeholders. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially in complex, data-heavy applications; high attention to detail.

  • Web experience is required (the product is web-based, though a mobile app is planned).

  • Comfortable using AI tools in your design workflow (designing AI products is a plus, but not a prerequisite).

  • Data- and UX-driven approach to decision making.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Interest or experience in AI/ML-driven interfaces (e.g. conversational UIs, recommendation systems, data visualisation for AI outputs).

  • Interest or background in fintech, financial services, or personal finance tools.

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and collaborating in sprint-based workflows.

  • Experience with user research methodologies and data analysis (e.g. planning and synthesizing user interviews or usability tests).

  • Understanding of regulatory/compliance considerations in financial products (clarity, trust, data transparency).

What you get:

  • High-impact design role: Shape the UX of an AI platform used by Tier 1 investment banks and asset managers.

  • Ownership and autonomy: Work directly with the Head of Design and Head of Product, owning key product areas end to end.

  • Exceptional team: Collaborate with colleagues from DeepMind, Meta AI, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Revolut, and other leading companies.

  • Growth opportunities: Significant room for growth in scope and responsibility as the company and product scale.

  • Competitive package: £80–120K base compensation (flexible and competitive) plus equity.

  • Benefits and time off: 25 days PTO plus bank holidays, healthcare and dental package.

  • Hybrid work: London preferred (New York possible for exceptional senior candidates); minimum 2 days per week in the office.

The vacancy is proudly presented by the hirehire recruiting agency.

"My favorite part about this role is Alex, the hiring manager and Finster’s Head of Experience. She’s an exceptional communicator (a great mix of friendly and candid), articulates her expectations and values clearly, and is simply a delight to talk to. I think she’ll become a dream design partner to you.”
