Project Design Engineer Assistant (secondment)

Senior Aerospace BWT, part of the Senior PLC Group, is a global leader in designing and manufacturing ultra-lightweight, low-pressure air distribution and cabin insulation systems for commercial, military, business, and helicopter aircraft, providing one-stop solutions from design to testing and production, known for weight reduction and efficiency. They specialise in thermoplastic composites, flexible ducting, and additive manufacturing, serving major aerospace companies with high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Project Design Engineer Assistant to join our engineering team (secondment). In this role, you will provide essential support to our Project Design Engineering team, assisting with engineering KPI processing, Static Data management, and documentation. Reporting to the Senior Project Design Engineer, this is a good opportunity to build engineering process knowledge while directly supporting live aerospace projects.

• Process lower-tier engineering KPIs: SARs, Engineering Orders, Change Requests, and Concessions/Production Permits, through to closure
• Handle the Static Data workload, keeping records accurate, current, and audit-ready
• Support the development and organisation of engineering documentation, including BOMs, estimates, and supporting records
• Coordinate administrative tasks for the Project Design Engineers, including database, and correspondence support
• Conduct basic research on materials, components, and manufacturing processes to support the design team's decisions
• Prepare and organise technical documentation, reports, and project files in accordance with company standards
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather and pass on information as required
• Maintain organised project records and ensure documentation is ready for engineering review

This role supports the Project Design Engineers with the above tasks and does not extend into leading projects, approving drawings, primary customer liaison, technical proposals, certification sign-off, or worldwide travel.

• Fast learner who works well under pressure, with strong multitasking ability and the flexibility to switch between tasks
• Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication skills and good time management
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy handling engineering documentation and Static Data records
• Good working knowledge of BWT products and processes
• Able to read engineering drawings
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Preferred: Strong problem-solving skills
