Location: London
Employment Type: Full-time (office-based during probation)
Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience, plus benefits

We are working with a global fashion manufacturing group working with some of the world’s leading brands is seeking an experienced Senior Garment Technologist to join its growing Childrenswear division. Renowned for technical excellence and high-quality product delivery, the business is in an exciting period of growth and restructure, creating an outstanding opportunity for a confident, commercially minded technologist.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, design-led environment and enjoys taking ownership of the technical process from concept through to production.


The Role
As Senior Garment Technologist, you will be responsible for the fit, quality, and technical development of boys’ and girls’ childrenswear. Working closely with buyers, designers, suppliers, and a small technical team, you will ensure all products meet brand standards, compliance requirements, and critical path deadlines.

You will lead fit sessions, manage size charts and blocks, provide clear technical guidance to suppliers, and oversee all testing and sealing stages to ensure product integrity.

Key Responsibilities
Lead weekly fit sessions, delivering clear and accurate fit comments to suppliers
Attend development meetings to ensure consistency in fit, construction, and quality across the product lifecycle
Develop, manage, and maintain graded size charts and core blocks for boyswear and girlswear
Oversee wash care instructions and labelling, ensuring compliance with all childrenswear regulations
Review and manage lab test reports, ensuring all safety and quality standards are met
Work collaboratively with factories, suppliers, buyers, designers, merchandisers, and internal stakeholders
Attend critical path meetings to ensure samples are sealed on time
Support and mentor junior members of the technical team, driving consistency and capability
Maintain accurate technical packs and documentation throughout the development process

About You , the must haves to be shortlisted 
Highly experienced Senior Garment Technologist with a strong childrenswear background (retailer, brand, or supplier)
Extensive knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, testing, and compliance within childrenswear
Confident leading fit sessions and communicating technical requirements clearly and diplomatically
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external partners
Experienced in overseeing and supporting junior team members
Well organised, self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple product areas effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable using Adobe software packages
Enjoys working in a growing, evolving business environment
London-based (or commutable) with full eligibility to work in the UK
