About the role:

Reporting to the Product Development Director, you will work together to accomplish department objectives by managing staff, delegating responsibilities and co-ordinating workloads amongst the team.

You will be responsible for the development, growth of all brands overseeing all products to ensure they are in keeping with brand guidelines. Delivering a product offer to exceed customers, brands’ and business expectations.

Key responsibilities:

To work with the Design director to set goals for the rest of the design team and to nurture their personal growth. This will include brainstorming and planning new projects.

To take instruction from the Design Director on an ongoing basis to ensure product & development meets the customer, business and market requirements.

Aiding the Development Director with communicating approvals / comments of development samples to suppliers.

To work with sourcing & the development director with sourcing new products and elevating existing products.

To maintain a strong working knowledge of all brands across the business, including brand requirements and ongoing developments.

To be responsible for ensuring projects are managed effectively and deadlines are met. As senior designer, you will be working with the Sales teams to ensure customer expectations are met and Overseeing all customer presentations for meetings to ensure requirements and briefs are met.

To ensure the department effectively supports the needs of the business, improving and implementing new processes as required. This supports leads the team with a positive and approachable attitude, cultivating a supportive and conscientious working environment.

To work with and communicate well with multiple departments to solve problems, progress the business and develop new opportunities.

Creating and managing a Critical Path for new seasonal development ensuring all key dates for customer meetings and critical order dates are met.

Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends in product, fabric, colours, packaging, technologies relating to fabrics, colours and shapes.

Research produce & present trend and design boards for seasons and brands to the business and clients. Including sourcing of new products, ideas and elevating existing sku’s.

To be the business’ champion of assigned brands’ and products.

To plan, design and develop ranges from given briefs, clients and / or License Holders to produce approved designs to meet requirements.

To be involved in development of new packaging to ensure fits and key marketing matches the product.

To understand design from a technical perspective to liaise with technical resource / suppliers to understand potential risk assessment of the developments.

Also working alongside the Technical Team to review PP samples and to attend Critical Path meetings to ensure the implementation of quality control standards according to Orrsum / the clients requirements.

To work with the Sales team to prepare presentations and samples for Customer meetings. On occasions, you will need to attend customer meetings to present season ranges / new products & developments.

To manage development sampling to meet critical paths for key business development and customer meeting dates. You are responsible for communicating approvals / comments in time to match customer key dates.  

To be responsible for the management and cataloguing samples ensuring you maintain an orderly system that is organised to support the business.

To aid in accomplishing staff results by communicating job expectations, including planning, briefing, monitoring and appraising design work.
