Raytheon UK have a full time, perm opportunity for a Senior Test Development Engineer to join our team in our Glenrothes(Scotland) and Livingston (Scotland) or Harlow (Essex) sites.

As Senior Test Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and lifecycle support of test equipment at board, sub-system, and system level. You’ll work on technologies that support Control Actuation Systems, Guidance Electronics, and cutting-edge GPS Anti-Jamming systems across land, sea, air—and space.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems

  • Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting

  • Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management

  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions

  • Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards

  • Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers

Required Experience

  • Design of product Test Development Hardware

  • Wiring Schedules

  • System Interface design

  • Appreciation of NI LabView/Teststand

  • Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.

  • Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production.

  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.

  • Able to support/debug system integration

  • Must be eligible Security Clearance to a minimum of BPSS

  • Desirable Experience

  • Significant test development experience in industry.

  • Understanding of common test architectures PXI/LXI

  • Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation

  • Software detailed knowledge of: NI LabView, CVI & TestStand, C#

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
