Interaction & UX Design

Unity Advisory is building a next-generation Internal AI Platform that powers data-driven advisory, internal copilots, and AI-enabled workflows.

We are looking for a highly capable, product-minded UX Researcher to ensure these AI-powered products are not only built, but understood, trusted, adopted, and embedded into real workflows.

This is not a traditional UX role. It sits at the intersection of:

  • UX research

  • Product and service design

  • AI experience design

  • Adoption and rollout strategy

You will play a critical role in translating complex AI capabilities into usable, trusted, and operational products that drive measurable impact across the firm and with clients.

The Mission

Ensure Unity’s AI products move successfully from:

Idea → Usable → Adopted → Embedded

This role owns the human success layer of the platform. You will define how users interact with AI systems, how organisations adopt them, and how products become part of everyday decision-making rather than unused tools.

What You’ll Do

Discovery & User Understanding

  • Conduct in-depth research with stakeholders including CFOs, finance teams, and operational leaders

  • Observe real workflows through shadowing, process walkthroughs, and working sessions

  • Map decision-making processes, behaviours, and pain points

  • Identify barriers to adoption including trust, organisational dynamics, and compliance concerns

  • Translate business problems into user, workflow, and experience requirements

AI Product Experience Design

  • Design intuitive workflows that simplify complex AI capabilities

  • Translate model outputs into clear, actionable user interactions

  • Define patterns for explainability, confidence, and transparency in AI systems

  • Create interaction models for effective human-AI collaboration

  • Build prototypes and interactive flows to validate ideas before engineering

  • Enforce accessibility standards across AI products to ensure usability for all users and reduce adoption barriers

Adoption & Rollout Design

This is a core part of the role.

  • Design onboarding journeys that lead users to early value

  • Define the “first value moment” for each product

  • Create training experiences that drive behaviour change, not documentation

  • Design rollout strategies tailored to different organisations and user groups

  • Identify and plan for change management needs

Embedded Usage Measurement & Feedback Loops

  • Define what successful adoption looks like in measurable terms

  • Design instrumentation and success metrics for usage and engagement

  • Establish feedback loops post-deployment

  • Analyse drop-off points and barriers to sustained usage

  • Feed insights back into product and platform improvements

Client & Internal Co-Creation

  • Run workshops with internal teams and client stakeholders

  • Test prototypes live with real users

  • Translate user feedback into actionable product improvements

  • Support delivery teams in positioning and embedding products

  • Lead demos and communicate design decisions clearly

AI Experience & Capability Design

  • Shape how AI capabilities are presented, understood, and trusted by users

  • Define and maintain foundational design tokens to ensure consistency and speed across products

  • Design experiences that make AI outputs interpretable and actionable

  • Contribute to Unity’s broader AI product and experience standards

  • Collaborate with engineers and AI specialists to ensure alignment between model capability and user experience

Collaboration & Impact

  • Work closely with product leadership, engineers, and AI specialists

  • Partner with stakeholders across advisory teams to understand real-world use cases

  • Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams

  • Influence how AI products are designed, positioned, and adopted across the firm

  • Help establish UX, research, and adoption as a core capability within Unity

What You Bring

User Research & Behavioural Insight

  • Strong experience in qualitative research, including interviews and workflow observation

  • Ability to uncover how organisations actually operate, not how they claim to operate

  • Experience identifying behavioural patterns, decision-making processes, and resistance to change

  • Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and navigating complex environments

Product & Experience Design

  • Experience designing user flows and interaction models for complex systems

  • Ability to simplify technical or data-driven processes into intuitive experiences

  • Strong prototyping capability using tools such as Figma, FigJam, or Miro, demonstrating the ability to move beyond static wireframes to test real workflows

  • Understanding of explainability and trust in AI-driven experiences

  • Understanding of accessibility standards and design systems

Adoption & Change Thinking

  • Experience designing for adoption, not just usability

  • Understanding of how products are introduced, scaled, and embedded in organisations

  • Awareness of organisational dynamics, incentives, and barriers

AI & Data Product Awareness

  • Interest or experience in AI-powered or data-driven products

  • Understanding of how AI systems influence user trust, decisions, and workflows

  • Ability to translate between technical capabilities and user needs

Mindset & Approach

  • Focused on real-world usage rather than visual polish

  • Curious about how organisations function at an operational level

  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and shaping a new capability from the ground up

  • Strong communicator who can lead discussions, workshops, and demos

  • Bias toward testing ideas in realistic environments rather than relying solely on static designs

  • Systems thinker who considers workflows, behaviours, and outcomes, not just screens

Nice to Have

  • Experience with B2B SaaS or enterprise tools

  • Exposure to finance, operations, or advisory environments

  • Experience working on AI or data products

  • Background in service design or transformation programmes

  • Experience in consulting or client-facing delivery environments

What Success Looks Like

You will succeed in this role if:

  • Users actively engage with products on a weekly basis

  • Adoption grows organically without heavy push from delivery teams

  • Users trust AI outputs and incorporate them into decision-making

  • Products drive measurable behaviour change

  • Support needs decrease as usability and clarity improve

  • Delivery teams proactively involve you early in product development

Why This Role Matters

Unity Advisory is not just building AI systems. We are building AI-enabled ways of working. Without strong user understanding, experience design, and adoption strategy, even the best AI platforms fail to deliver value.

This role ensures that:

  • AI products are usable and trusted

  • Solutions are adopted and embedded into workflows

  • The platform delivers real, measurable business impact

  • You will help define how AI is experienced across the firm.

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a visual design role focused on UI polish

  • Not a pure UX research role detached from delivery

  • Not a product manager role

  • Not a traditional change management role

This is a hybrid role focused on making AI products work in the real world.

If you are motivated by understanding users, shaping AI experiences, and driving real adoption of complex products, this is a unique opportunity to define a critical capability within a fast-growing, AI-native firm.
