What’s the role about?
As our Menswear Garment Technologist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring all products meet the highest standards of fit, quality and performance across woven and jersey categories. Reporting to the Senior Menswear Technologist, you’ll work closely with Design, Product Development, Buying and Merchandising teams to manage the technical development of your categories from initial concept through to production.
This is a hands-on, detail-focused role where you’ll lead fit sessions, manage critical path timelines and collaborate with suppliers to deliver consistently high-quality garments in line with the Reiss brand.
Who you are
- Experienced in Menswear Garment Technology, with strong knowledge across woven and jersey product categories.
- Confident leading fit sessions and making clear, commercially sound decisions on fit and construction.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, materials and product performance.
- Highly organised with a clear understanding of the critical path and the ability to manage multiple styles.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and consistency.
- A confident communicator and team player, able to collaborate effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing the technical development of your product categories from design concept through sealing and into production.
- Leading fit sessions with Design and Buying teams, ensuring garments meet required fit, quality and aesthetic standards.
- Maintaining and updating tech packs with accurate fit comments, measurement specifications and supplier guidance.
- Reviewing samples, specifications and production to ensure consistency and adherence to Reiss quality standards.
- Managing the critical path, updating systems and attending progress meetings to ensure key deadlines are met.
- Working closely with suppliers to resolve technical queries, manage sample development and ensure clear communication throughout.
- Conducting risk assessments in collaboration with Product Development, identifying and mitigating potential issues.
- Managing QC issues by reviewing rejected garments, making commercial decisions and working with suppliers to drive improvements.
- Overseeing testing and compliance, analysing test reports and ensuring all products meet performance, safety and sustainability standards.
- Ensuring appropriate packing methods are used for shipment and storage to maintain garment quality.
