We are hiring for our client, a leading multinational engineering manufacturer, who is seeking a Graduate Design Engineer to join their team in Dungannon.
This Graduate Design Engineer job is an excellent opportunity for a recent or upcoming Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering graduate who wants to build a long-term career within a global engineering environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider engineering team to support new design solutions, manufacturing drawings, engineering bills of materials and engineering change processes. This role would suit someone with strong 3D CAD knowledge, a solid understanding of engineering principles and the drive to learn quickly within a hands-on manufacturing environment.

The Role:
As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will:
Work with the engineering team to create solutions to a variety of technical and manufacturing issues
Use 3D design software to produce designs, models and manufacturing drawings
Support the production of full manufacturing drawing packs and engineering bills of materials
Work closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Suppliers and Service teams
Help improve machine build, service life and manufacturing processes through improved design
Assist in resolving engineering problems quickly and effectively at root cause
Support engineering change processes relating to washing plant equipment
Follow Group engineering standards, IT systems and design processes
Work in line with QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing standards
The Person:
The successful Graduate Design Engineer will ideally have:
A minimum 2:2 degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
Strong knowledge of 3D solid modelling CAD
Excellent understanding of basic engineering principles
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong IT and numerical skills
A willingness to learn quickly and continuously
Good interpersonal and presentation skills
The ability to work with others to meet deadlines
A determined, goal-orientated and results-focused approach
Desirable Criteria:
Knowledge of Pro-Engineer or similar 3D CAD software
Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems
Familiarity with Product Data Management systems
Advanced Excel skills
