A Web Designer at Car Finance 247 is a passionate designer with an eye for modern, stylish web design and a strong interest in current web trends and best practices. You’ll be advanced in design platforms like Figma, with a solid working knowledge of HTML and Tailwind CSS so your designs translate cleanly into code.
This role is ideal for a mid to senior level designer who enjoys owning their work end-to-end, from initial concept and Figma design through to a working prototype and hand-off. You care deeply about visual craft, consistency, accessibility, and usability, and you’re motivated by building things the right way, not just the fastest way. You’ll be designing and growing a library of modern, stylish website templates that we offer to dealers who choose to take a website with us. From first concept in Figma through to working HTML and Tailwind prototypes, you’ll create templates that are responsive, accessible, and easy for our front-end engineers to build in code. A portfolio that proves your design strengths is essential, and there’s plenty of opportunity to shape the design direction of the template library from day one.
We’re pushing big into AI-driven development, so a genuine enthusiasm for AI tooling is a must – you’ll use AI throughout the design process to multiply your output and deliver several templates at pace. You’ll collaborate closely with front-end engineers, product managers, and other designers, playing an active role in shaping solutions. Key Responsibilities
Our Web Designers don’t just produce mock-ups – they actively shape the products their designs become. From initial concept through to production, you’ll take ownership of your work, contributing to design direction, prototyping, and delivery to create meaningful, high-quality templates.
Design and concepting:
Design and concepting:
- Participate in collaborative planning sessions, helping to clarify and elaborate requirements.
- Design modern, stylish, responsive website templates for dealers across the country.
- Establish reusable patterns and a consistent design system across the template library.
- Keep the template library fresh, current, and in step with modern web design trends.
Prototyping:
- Turn your Figma designs into working HTML and Tailwind prototypes.
- Ensure every design maps cleanly onto Tailwind utilities and components, so engineers can build it without guesswork.
- Build prototypes that demonstrate responsive behaviour across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Iterate quickly on concepts, exploring several design directions before settling on the strongest.
- Refine and improve existing templates based on dealer feedback and real-world use.
Collaboration and hand-off
- Work closely with front-end engineers from concept to build, providing clear, complete design specs.
- Participate in design reviews, iterating on feedback from engineers, product managers, and dealers.
AI-accelerated delivery:
- Use AI tools throughout the design process to move from brief to finished template faster.
- Evaluate new AI design tools and bring the best of them into the team’s workflow. ·
- Balance speed with craft – AI accelerates the work, but quality and consistency stay non-negotiable.
About You
Essential:
- A strong portfolio of modern, stylish website designs that proves your design strengths.
- Advanced experience with design platforms like Figma.
- A solid understanding of Tailwind CSS, with enough HTML and CSS to build working prototypes.
- A strong grasp of responsive design, accessibility, and web typography.
- Component-driven design thinking – reusable patterns and design systems.
- Proven ability to collaborate with front-end engineers and hand off designs that get built accurately.
- A genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted design – able to use AI tools to significantly speed up your output.
- Ability to iterate quickly, exploring several design directions at pace.
- An eye for detail and consistency across breakpoints, states, and templates.
- Ability to problem-solve creatively, focusing on delivering high-quality outcomes efficiently.
Desirable:
- Experience designing white-label or multi-brand website products and templates.
- Familiarity with how Vue component libraries consume designs.
- Motion and interaction design skills.
- Awareness of the SEO and web performance implications of design decisions. Experience designing for automotive, dealership, or small-business audiences.
- Knowledge of partner-ready or multi-tenant platforms with customisable features.
- Experience using AI image and content generation tools as part of the design process.
- Comfortable documenting design decisions and keeping template guidelines up to date.
